Amoebotaenia

A genus of tapeworms of the family Dilepididae.

• A. cuneata — a tapeworm of poultry. Heavy infestations cause a hemorrhagic enteritis. Chronic infections cause wasting and reduced growth rate.
• A. sphenoides — see Amoebotaenia cuneata (above).
