Edison's An Equine Hero was released on the same reel as the company's Queen of Burlesque. Fired for abusing the horse in his care, a stable groom decides to get revenge on both the horse and its owner. Sneaking back to the stable in the dead of night, the groom sets fire to the joint. Ah, but this horse is a trick horse, and in a twinkling it has not only put out the fire single-hoofed, but also brought the villain to heel. Unfortunately, the effectiveness of this final scene was ruined by poor photography and an excess of studio smoke. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
