Geography Dictionary: analogue model

A model which explains a phenomenon by reference to some other occurrence; for example, H. T. Odum likened an ecosystem to an electrical circuit. Energy input was shown as batteries, food flows as electric currents, and energy dissipation by amperage and voltage chambers.
