Review
For some strange reason, Megadeth's faithful cover of the Sex Pistols' "Anarchy in the U.K." drew a lot of press and no small amount of praise at the time of its release. Whether this was due to the exceedingly drab material which surrounded it on the band's third opus, So Far, So Good...So What!, or purely good timing because Dave Mustaine and company's heavily politicized thrash metal seemed so darn cutting-edge at the time remains unclear, but their version's very straightforward reading ultimately marked it for a short shelf-life, even if it remained a regular encore in Megadeth's subsequent tours. Complemented by two old live recordings of "Black Friday" and "Devil's Islands" (both standouts from their landmark previous release, Peace Sells...But Who's Buying?), this EP has also failed to retain much value as a rarity over time -- except for die-hard collectors, that is. ~ Eduardo Rivadavia, All Music GuideTracks
