Review

A mighty combination. Anarkali, featuring music by C. Ramchandra (the nom de plume of Ramchandra Chitalkar), is largely a vehicle for peak period Lata Mangeshkar. The excellent Hemant Kumar provides the male voice. Mughal-E-Azam is one of Naushad's masterworks. Lata Mangeshkar features prominently. It also contains a cameo performance by the venerable Bade Ghulam Ali Khan singing "Shubh Din Aayo" and anything by this truly special Hindustani classical vocalist is worth listening to. A highly recommended coupling. ~ Ken Hunt, Rovi
