Anather
(Anat her)
ˁnt ḥr

Anat-her was a ruler of the Hyksos Sixteenth dynasty of Egypt around 1600 BCE during what is often referred to as the Second Intermediate Period.[1]

Anather's name has not been found represented within a cartouche and there is no evidence, therefore, that he reigned as pharaoh.[citation needed] He may have instead been a prince[2] under the authority of the 15th dynasty at Avaris.

His name means "Anath is content" and refers to the Semitic goddess which affirms his non-Egyptian heritage. It is sometimes accompanied by the title "heka kha-swt" meaning "ruler of the desert lands"; perhaps a reference to the slice of territory under his control.[citation needed]
