Anaya Music

Anaya Music (born Tania Mara Botelho) is a new age musician and composer from Brazil. She is a member of the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) and of the Grammy Recording Academy. She is also included in All Media Guide (AMG), together with other new age artists such as Kitaro and Yanni.

Background

Niece of conductor Menelau Campos and a pupil of conductors Waldemar Henrique and Wilma Graça, Anaya began her musical studies early in life. Her talent started flourishing when she was 8, first when she discovered the piano and later when she was touched by the guitar chords.

Later on, after having her first professional experiences as a local classical singer and guitar composer, she began putting a lot of effort on her Information Technology studies, leading people around her to believe she would became an academic and forget about her novice music career. In fact, that is just what happened as she became an IT professor at the University of Brasilia.

After earning a PhD in IT (in the USA) and a Post Doctorate degree in Leadership (in England), Anaya chose to restart her music career. That was when she made the transition from the classic piano to the keyboard and all of the high tech sound effects that come with it. At the same time, that was when she matured her style, as her CDs received her own touch, ranging from ambient new age to Brazilian popular music (MPB).

In this new musical phase of hers, Anaya was finally able to gather senses and technology. On her website, she states that the balance and harmony of this union was fundamental to her creation.[1]
