Andreas Raselius
(b Hahnbach, c1563; d Heidelberg, 6 Jan 1602). German composer. After studies at Heidelberg, he was a Kantor in Regensburg, 1584-1600, then returned to Heidelberg as court Kapellmeister. He wrote the first published German motet cycle for the church year (1594-5), chorales for congregational singing and two treatises.
