Andrew "Andy" Halliday (born 11 October 1991 in Glasgow, Scotland) is a Scottish footballer who currently plays as a left winger for Middlesbrough.
He started off as a pro-youth player at Rangers before being released in 2006.[1] He then moved to Livingston, playing for the under 19s before making his first team debut in April 2008.[1] Halliday's performances throughout the 2009–10 season have attracted interest from several Scottish and English teams, this interest came after Halliday bagged 15 goals in just 44 appearances.[citation needed] At the Livingston player of the year awards for the 2009–10 season, Halliday won young player of the year, as well as being nominated twice for goal of the season.[citation needed] Halliday joined English Championship side Middlesbrough for the start of the 2010–11 season, after agreeing to join Gordon Strachan's team.[1] He scored his first goal for Middlesbrough in a 3-3 draw with Ipswich Town on 12 April 2011.
