Andrew Lane

Andrew Lane is a horn soloist and conductor. Lane is the principal pops and resident conductor of the Orlando Philharmonic, of which he is a founding member. He is also the conductor of the Florida West Coast Symphony Youth Philharmonic and principal conductor of the Florida West Coast Symphony Youth Orchestra program, a post he has held since fall of 2002.

Until May 2005, Lane also served as music director of the Florida Symphony Youth Orchestra, where he had been a driving force in music education since 1994. He has also served as principal conductor of Southern Ballet Theatre (now Orlando Ballet) and has guest conducted with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Rochester Philharmonic, Naples Philharmonic, and the Florida Orchestra.

Lane began his musical career with the United States Navy Band in Washington, DC. He left the Navy in 1986 and performed as a freelance musician with the American Chamber Orchestra, Washington Chamber Orchestra, Kennedy Center Orchestra and National Gallery Orchestra. In 1990 he became a member of the French horn section of the Florida Orchestra and in 1991 joined the Florida Symphony Orchestra in Orlando. When the Florida Symphony Orchestra folded in 1993, Lane and several other former FSO musicians formed the Orlando Philharmonic that same year.

Lane currently lives in Orlando, Florida.
