History

McDermott performed in clubs in the north east ofEngland playing with bands such as Harvest(with guitarist Dave Hills, now of swampfreaks[1])Renegade,Eliminator and Mr President in his early years before moving to Germany to join the band Sargant Fury. After three albums the band dissolved and in 1998 McDermott joined Threshold as lead-singer, replacing Damian Wilson.

In 2003, Wieland Hofmeister - being a Threshold fan and living near McDermott - asked him to join his project "Yargos". McDermott accepted and they released an album in 2005.

McDermott is finishing off the first swampfreaks album at the moment. EP is available at www.swampfreaks.com [2]

The second Yargos cd is finished.

In 2007, days before the "Live Reckoning" tour with Threshold, he surprisingly left the band[1]. For the tour, he is temporarily replaced by previous frontman Damian Wilson[2].
