Founded Taverner Choir 1973 and later Taverner Consort and Players. Prom. début 1977 with Monteverdi Vespers, RFH 1979. Gave f.p. in London of Bach's Mass in B minor with period instr.; also perfs. of St Matthew Passion and Brandenburg concs. with authentic instr. Has cond.
