Androphobia is an abnormal fear of men.[1][2] The word is derived from the Greek άνδρας (andras/man) and φόβος (phobos/fear).[3][4]:)

Androphobia may be related to traumatic events in the sufferer's past (for example rape/sexual assault, witnessing physical and verbal abuse). It may also be due to social phobia[disambiguation needed ] or social anxiety disorder.
