Andy Fish is an American artist, writer, graphic novelist and cartoonist.

Born in Massachusetts in 1975, Fish attended both the School of Visual Arts in New York City and Rhode Island School of Design where he continues to do portfolio reviews there for prospective students.

Author and artists of a series of art instruction books for Quarto Publishing in London including How To Draw Graphic Novels, How To Draw Tattoo Style, How To Draw Superheroes and How To Draw Supernatural Creatures.

A longtime collaborator with Adam "Batman" West, Fish completed THE MISADVENTURES OF ADAM WEST #5 comic book for Blue Water Productions along with frequent artistic collaborator Brian Flint which was released May 2012.

For the past three years he was been working on a graphic novel series based on Bram Stoker's classic vampire tale Dracula in the form of five graphic novels under the title Dracula: The Dead Travel Fast. The first volume was released in December 2010 with the second volume in spring 2011. The book has gone on to five printings and is currently[when?] being released as a digital graphic novel through Diamond Distributors' Diamond Digital. The graphic novel updates the original story to the early 1930s, introducing the growing Nazi movement in Europe at the time and incorporating Dracula and its cast into world-shattering events. He has also demonstrated a stronger inter-personal relationship between the characters in the original series while maintaining the spirit of the original.

For McFarland Press he has produced the 120 page Werewolves of Wisconsin and Other American Folklore as a full color graphic novel set for release around Halloween 2011. The book explores regional folklore and mysteries in the continental United States and is a mixture of fiction and non-fiction. His latest work from them is a full color adaption of Stoker's DRACULA which parallel's his earlier work on the character but sets it completely within the realms of Stoker's original vision.

He continues to develop the Batman 1939 graphic novel for DC Comics in New York City co-written by Michael Warshaw. The story will explore the vigilante aspect of the original Batman from his first appearances in comics over 70 years ago and incorporate historical events into the storyline. No release date has been announced.

In fall 2008, he began working as a professor of art instruction at the Massachusetts College of Art and he also teaches a course on graphic novel illustration for Emerson College in Boston. He has been a faculty member of the Worcester Art Museum for over ten years working with some 1200 students in a variety of disciplines, including the hosting duties of the Museum's participation in the worldwide 24 Hour Comics Challenge[1] every year in October.

A previous graphic novel, FLY; A True Story Completely Made Up, was released to comic book stores worldwide as well as through Amazon and Target in fall 2008. The book met with critical success, including one Eisner judge who said Fish was "throwing some serious heat" in contention for that prestigious award.

Fish created the independent comic book character Adam Bomb, and later introduced the character as one of the first online comic strips[2] on the Internet. The strip was turned into a series of Flash Animation cartoons by the Showtime artist Rob Feldman.

Fish's work as a painter has been shown in many solo gallery shows around the US including the recent[when?] Suckers and Biters Exhibit at the Adhoc Gallery in Brooklyn, New York,[3] as well as winning honorable mention at a[when?] show celebrating the anniversary of the Smiley Face Icon created by Harvey Ball.

His work at ArtsWorcester was featured in the Pop Euphoria show along with his wife Veronica Hebard, whom he married in October 2010.

As an author he has produced several graphic novels, including The Tragic Tale of Turkey Boy and Jerry Claus The Return of Dark Santa —upcoming books include The Sorrowful Tale of Boris the Talking Cat and The Girl with the Really Big Thumbs.

As a writer he is adapting Travis Simpkins' essay into a screenplay which he hopes to direct himself.[citation needed] In spring 2009, he was contracted by Bazley Films to adapt their treatment for Gangsters into both a finished screenplay and a graphic novel.[4][5]

A duo show called Atomic Hearts and the Electrical Brain featured 150 all-new works created by both he and his wife and opened to great success on June 26, 2009./[6][6]

2005, 2012 he was nominated "New England Newspaper Illustrator of the Year" for his covers for Worcester Magazine.
