Andy Gardiner is the Majority Leader [1] of the Florida Senate, a body in which he represents the 9th District. His district of almost 400,000 residents includes parts of Orange, Seminole, and Osceola Counties in Central Florida. Senator Andy Gardiner was sworn in as the State Senator from the 9th District on November 18, 2008. He is also the Vice President of External Affairs and Community Relations for Orlando Health.[2]

Before being elected to the Senate, Gardiner was a member of the Florida House of Representatives from 2000 through 2008 and served as Majority Leader from 2004 to 2006. In addition, Gardiner served as the Orange County Legislative Delegation Chair from 2002 to 2003 and 2007 to 2008 and was a past member of the National Conference of State Legislators, Transportation Committee.
Andy Gardiner has been selected five times by the Orlando Magazine's 50 Most Powerful People (2010, 2008, 2007, 2006, and 2005) [3] and named Orlando Business Journal’s Forty Under Forty Outstanding Male of the Year in 2005.[4]
Senator Gardiner served as the Chairman of the Senate Transportation Committee from 2008 to 2010 along with serving as a member on the Policy and Steering Committee on Commerce and Industry, Community Affairs, Health Regulation, Ethics and Elections, Transportation and Economic Development Appropriations, Rules, and the Joint Legislative Auditing Committee. Currently, Senator Gardiner serves on the Budget Subcommittee on Finance and Tax, Health Regulation, Reapportionment, and Rules Committees in addition to his role as Majority Leader.
Gardiner graduated from Stetson University in 1992 with a B.A. in Political Science and Psychology.
Senator Gardiner is married to Camille Gardiner and they have three children – Andrew Junior, Joanna Lynn, and Kathryn Lucille.
