Andrew Maynard 'Andy' Parker was born 21 March 1952 in Cheshunt, Hertfordshire, England. Parker began drumming when he was only 7 years old. 10 years later he started his first rock band with high school friends Phil Mogg and Pete Way called UFO.[1] He joined the group at the age of 17 in 1969. While he joined the band he recruited guitarist Mick Bolton. Later as the group left Parker and Mogg started havin "run-ins" with Bolton and shortly after fired him. Parker, Mogg, and Way then needed a guitarist and recruited German guitarist Michael Schenker. Parker has been in UFO from 1969 – Present. Andy has had medical problems since late 2005 - early 2007 and had to be replaced in UFO by Jason Bonham shortly until his medical reasons are taken care of. He currently lives, together with his wife, in Texas.
