Greek audiences in the 1960s had a seemingly insatiable appetite for romantic dramas involving budding romances temporarily thwarted by class-conscious relatives. As predictable as any of the hundreds of examples of this subgenre, this film by Kostas Karayiannis deals with a wealthy young man (Kostas Kakavas) whose wicked mother plots, schemes, and finally drives him from his socially inferior but good-hearted wife (Christina Sylva). Eventually, as in most of these films, true love conquers all. Yiorgos Foundas co-stars with Yiorgos Moutsios and Anestis Vlachos. ~ Robert Firsching, Rovi
