Angarsky District (Russian: Ангарский райо́н) is an administrative[1] and municipal[3] district (raion), one of the thirty-three in Irkutsk Oblast, Russia. It is located in the southwest of the oblast. The area of the district is 1,150 square kilometers (440 sq mi).[citation needed] Its administrative center is the city of Angarsk[2] (which is not administratively a part of the district). Population: 12,063 (2010 Census preliminary results);[4] 11,574 (2002 Census).[8]
