Angelo Sosa is an American chef who appeared on the seventh season of the Bravo reality television show Top Chef. He finished as a runner-up, losing to Kevin Sbraga.
Early in his career, he met Jean-Georges Vongerichten who became his mentor, and went on to work for him at Jean Georges, Dune, and Spice Market, where he served as Executive Sous Chef. Shortly thereafter, he was invited by Alain Ducasse to create a special seasonal menu at his Paris restaurant Spoon Food & Wine, the first American to receive such an honor.[citation needed]
He currently lives in New York City.
Sosa owned a sandwich shop named 'Xie Xie' (meaning thank you in Mandarin) for a short time, but it is now closed.
Sosa would return to compete on Top Chef All-Stars. He was eliminated in seventh place.
In March 2011, Sosa opened Social Eatz in Manhattan's Midtown East, serving American standards, spiced up using Asian flavors and techniques.[1]
