anhydrosugar
any intramolecular ether formed by the elimination of water from two (indicated) alcoholic hydroxyl groups of a single molecule of a monosaccharide, whether aldose or ketose; i.e. any anhydromonosaccharide whose formation does not involve the reducing group.
