1. (Strauss: Intermezzo). Mezzo-Soprano. The family maid. She helps her mistress Christine Storch to pack her husband's things before he leaves to conduct in Vienna. Created (1924) by Liesel von Schuch (and based on the Strausses' maid, Anna Glossner, who was very cross about it).

2. (Marschner: Hans Heiling). Soprano. Bride of Hans Heiling. She is frightened of him and meets and falls in love with Konrad. Created (1833) by Therese Grünbaum.

3. (Berlioz: Les Troyens). Cont. Sister of Dido. She urges Dido to remarry. Created (1863) by Mlle Dubois.
