Anselmo Canneri

(b Verona, 1522-34; d Verona, 1584-6). Italian painter. He was a pupil of Giovanni Caroto (Vasari) and worked mainly in Verona and the Veneto. He was one of a group of Veronese painters who often worked together, frequently on decorations for buildings by Michele Sanmicheli and Andrea Palladio, and was also an early collaborator of PAOLO VERONESE (see Gisolfi Pechukas, 1987 and 1988).
