Plot

Filmmaker Bob Coen ponders the terrifying possibilities of chemical and biological warfare in this chilling documentary. Taking as his launching point the 2001 anthrax attacks that occurred in the U.S. during the immediate aftermath of 9/11, Coen sets out on a global journey that encompasses the FBI's investigation of that case; the documented use of germ warfare on black South Africans by the apartheid government; the mysterious deaths of biological-weapons experts David Kelly and Bruce Ivins; and the burgeoning yet unregulated bio-defense industry. ~ Sandra Bencic, Rovi

Anthrax War is a 2009 documentary film about the 2001 anthrax attacks that premiered at the 9/11 Film Festival at the Grand Lake Theater in Oakland, California with filmmaker Eric Nadler in person.

Filmmakers Bob Coen, Eric Nadler and Dylan Verrechia discuss the 2001 anthrax attacks and offer a look into the world of biological warfare. Coen and Nadler also wrote the accompanying book Dead Silence that discusses, in greater detail, the investigation that the documentary examines.

Shortly after the 9/11 terrorist attacks, anthrax-laced letters were mailed to offices of media outlets in New York City and Florida and to the U. S. Senate in Washington DC, creating an atmosphere of fear across the United States and beyond. The filmmakers question the official story surrounding the FBI investigation of this instance of biological terrorism.[1]
