Anti-angiogenics
Anti-angiogenics is a class of drug that prevents the formation of abnormal, new blood vessels in the eye, and dries up vessels which have already begun to leak.
One anti-angiogenic drug is Lucentis (ranibizumab), which is used to treat wet age-related macular degeneration (wet AMD). Injections of Lucentis can improve sight in people with a particular form of retinal degeneration.
