Review

This southern-fried Jim Carroll is weird and quirky. The conversational delivery and funky delivery reminds me of MC 900 Ft. Jesus. It is no surprise to find David Monsey from that band is on bass. Kenny Withrow (New Bohemians) helps out on guitar. Even drummer Earl Harvin (MC 900 Ft. Jesus) associated with bandleader Jeffrey "Chate" Liles in his Decadent Dub Team. DJ Zero shows up on a few of the tracks. Each cut is full of wry, hip observations that could have made extra scenes for Slacker. Liles' exposure to the critical mass of Texas has mutated his creative mind. Jeffrey is fueled by a strange sort of radioactivity he found down there between basketball court drug deals and the desert. ~ Tom Schulte, Rovi
