antiparallel
- (in biochemistry) (describing of a pair of parallel linear structures, such as two polynucleotide or polypeptide chains, having directional polarity or asymmetry in opposite directions.
- (in quantum physics) (of the spins of a pair of electrons occupying the same atomic or molecular orbital) described by different spin quantum numbers. Compare parallel (def. 2).
