Antoine Gearnon

Gearnon, Antoine (?1610-?1670), theologian. Born possibly in Co. Louth, he studied at St Anthony's College, Louvain, and was ordained a Franciscan priest in 1635. He worked in Ireland from 1639 to 1644 before returning to St Anthony's, where he compiled Parrthas an Anma (Soul's Paradise) (1645), a catechism and prayer-book conveying the Catholic teachings of the Council of Trent.
