Antrix Corporation Limited is commercial wing of Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO). The name "Antrix" is an anglicized version of Antariksh, from the Sanskrit word for "space" or "sky".

Antrix Corporation Limited is a wholly owned Government of India Company under the administrative control of the Department of Space, Government of India. Antrix Corporation Limited was incorporated as a private limited company owned by Government of India, in September 1992 as a Marketing arm of Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) for promotion and commercial exploitation of space products, technical consultancy services and transfer of technologies developed by ISRO. Another major objective is to facilitate development of space related industrial capabilities in India.

As the commercial and marketing arm of Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), Antrix is engaged in providing Space products and services to international customers worldwide. Antrix, which is an INR 950 Cr. (Approx. US$ 200 Mn) Company in 2007-08 got the "Miniratna" status by the Government of India in 2008.

With fully equipped state-of-the-art facilities^{[citation needed]}, Antrix provides end to end solution^{[clarification needed]} for any of the space products, ranging from supply of hardware and software including simple subsystems to a complex spacecraft, for varied applications covering communications, earth observation, scientific missions; space related service including remote sensing data series, Transponders lease service; Launch services through the operational launch vehicles (PSLV and GSLV); Mission support services; and a host of consultancy and training services are also offered by Antrix.

With the versatility of products and services being marketed, Antrix caters to a prestigious clientele including some of the leading space companies across the globe - EADS Astrium, Intelsat, Avanti Group, World space, Inmarsat, World Sat, DLR, KARI, Eutelsat, OHB Systems and several other Space Institutions in Europe, Middle East and South East Asian countries.^[2]

Products and services

Antrix Corporation offers for sale various spacecraft sub-systems, remote sensing maps, leasing of transponders, launch services on board the PSLV, ground support, spacecraft testing and consultancy services.

Spacecraft systems

Antrix offers various precision subsystems for spacecrafts, including solar array deployment mechanisms, camera control, spacecraft power systems and power electronics, transponders and attitude control systems.

For propulsion, it offers propellant tanks, liquid apogee motors, thrust control mechanisms, transducers, etc.^[3]

Remote Sensing services

Antrix sells satellite imagery from the Cartosat, IRS, Oceansat and other remote sensing satellites that ISRO operates.^[4]

Transponder leasing services

Antrix leases transponders on the INSAT series of communication satellites.^[5]

Launch services

Antrix offers satellite launch services on board ISRO's PSLV and GSLV launch vehicles.^[6]

Ground support services

Antrix offers to supply, install, integrate and operationalize ground tracking stations for satellites in orbit.

Spacecraft testing services

Antrix provides access to test facilities for satellites and launch vehicles.

Achievements

• Successful launch of W2M satellite.
• Successful supply of reliable satellite systems and sub-systems. Some of Antrix's better known customers are Hughes, Matra Marconi, World Space etc.
• Successful Commercial Satellite Launches of Kitsat (Korea), Tubsat (DLR - Germany), BIRD (DLR - Germany), PROBA (Verhaert, Belgium) aboard the ISRO's Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV).
• Execution of many IOT / TTC support services to International Space Agencies. Some of the customers using Antrix services are World Space PANAMSAT, GE Americom, AFRISTAT etc.,
