| 1740 | Poems on Several Occasions. An English-born typographer, this poet had moved to Philadelphia prior to 1717. There he worked in Andrew Bradford's printing office, which would be run by Benjamin Franklin after Bradford's death. Rose's poetry, collected here by his son Joseph, displays an amateur versifier steeped in the neoclassical tradition. |
