(peanut oil)

An oil extracted from peanuts. It is an ingredient of emulsions used in nutrition. It is also used in an enema, as a faecal softener for the treatment of constipation and impacted faeces, as an emollient in creams, and as an ingredient of ear drops for softening earwax.

Precautions:
arachis oil should not be used by people allergic to peanuts.

Fletchers' Arachis Oil Retention Enema; Oilatum Cream (emollient); Cerumol (combined with paradichlorobenzene and chlorobutanol); Earex Ear Drops (combined with camphor and almond oil); Hydromol Cream (combined with isopropyl myristate, liquid paraffin, sodium lactate, and sodium pyrrolidone); Polytar (combined with tar, coal tar, and oleyl alcohol).
