Nostalgia is a group project for Mathias Grassow and Rudiger Gleisberg. Their debut, Arcana Publicata Vilescunt, also features guest performances by Jim Cole (overtone vocals), Carsten Agthe (percussion and didgeridoo), and Regina Heinrichs (vocals). This is a different kind of effort for Grassow and Gleisberg. The disc starts with some rhythmic ambience and threatens to become techno or prog rock. The rhythm stays and the surroundings change. Cole's vocals kick in and -- bang! -- this is ambient with movement and rhythm. The entire disc is much more active than what folks expect from Grassow or Gleisberg. They are capable musicians and handle the change of pace smoothly and deftly. This disc will appeal to fans of Steve Roach, Vir Unis, Solitaire, and Red Sector A. ~ Jim Brenholts, All Music Guide
