Arcology

Combination of architecture and ecology supported by Paolo Soleri as a solution to urban living involving the building of megastructures able to contain up to three million people. Arcosanti, a future self-sufficient community powered by solar energy in the desert of Arizona, was commenced in the 1970s and has been under construction ever since.
