The Arizona Department of Revenue, through its director and deputy director, administers tax laws, including those for income, sales, use, withholding, property, estate, fiduciary, bingo, and severance. Nine divisions comprise the department: Administrative Services, Audit, Collections, External Services and Special Projects, Information Technology, Process Administration, Property Tax, Taxpayer Services, and Tax Policy and Research. The department's Criminal Investigation Unit conducts criminal investigations of tax evasion and fraudulent tax activity. Other Arizona Department of Revenue services include the return of unclaimed property and processing applications for new business licenses.
