The Arkansas Air National Guard is the air force militia of the US state of Arkansas. It is, along with the Arkansas Army National Guard, an element of the Arkansas National Guard.

Units

  • 188th Fighter Wing: The 188th Fighter Wing is located in Ft. Smith, Arkansas and is home to the 184th Fighter Squadron flying the A-10.
  • 189th Airlift Wing: The 189th Airlift Wing is based at Little Rock Air Force Base, Arkansas and flies the C-130E Hercules. Since 1986 the 189 AW has been part of the C-130 Formal Training Unit at LRAFB. The 189th Airlift Wing is home to the most experienced C-130 instructor cadre in the world. Since 1998, the primary mission of the 189 AW has been to teach the C-130 Instructor School curriculum for pilots, navigators, flight engineers, and loadmasters. Students include aircrew members from all branches of the DoD, Coast Guard, and many foreign countries.
154th Training Squadron provides the instructors for the C-130 school house.
