Biography

The black metal brainchild of vocalist and guitarist Deviant, Arkhon Infaustus was a French band that was formed in 1997. The first release by the band -- Deviant was joined shortly after the creation of the project by bassist Torturer -- was the demo tape/EP In Sperma Infernum. A second EP, Dead Cunt Maniac, followed in 2000, and the band expanded to include second guitarist Toxik H. after recording the full-length Hell Injection, which was released in 2001 by the band's new label, Osmose Productions. Conquering Europe's stages was next, and upon returning to the studio to record a new album, the band took on a new drummer, A.ZK6. Filth Catalyst hit store shelves in 2003, and was quickly followed by a split EP with Revenge. In 2004, the band released Perdition Insanabilis, which led to a tour with death metal icons Deicide. In 2007, the band released the well-received Orthodoxyn. A double EP, Annunciation, was also released (just prior to the full-length) that same year. ~ Chris True, Rovi

Overview

Brief History

Arkon Infaustus was created in late 1997 by Dk Deviant, joined by Torturer.[1][2] They first released an EP entitled In Sperma Infernum through Mordgrimm, which was limited to 666 copies. They then signed to Spikekult Records and released another EP entitled Dead Cunt Maniac in 2000.[2] This got them signed to Osmose Productions.[2] Their first album, Hell Injection, was released in 2001 and limited to 500 copies. After their second album, Filth Catalyst (2002), they toured with Mortician.[3] They then went on to do a split with the black metal band Revenge, and toured in Europe with Vader.

In 2004 they released Perdition Insanabilis and toured Europe with Deicide,[2][4] and again in 2005 with Belphegor and In Aeternum.[5] In 2007, they released an EP, Annunciation, and an album, Orthodoxyn, and in April and May 2008 toured Europe with Angelcorpse.[6]

Musical style

Arkhon Infaustus use distorted raspy vocals, double bass, and synthesizers to play a style of black/death metal similar to that of Angelcorpse. Their lyrics usually deal with Satanism, sex, anti-Christianity, and general acts of debauchery.
