The Army of the Men of the Naqshbandi Order (Naqshbandi Army) is a militant Sunni Muslim organisation of the Sufi school, named for the Naqshbandi Sufist order. The media also frequently refers to the group by the acronym JRTN, which represents a romanization of its Arabic name.[1]
The group operates in Kirkuk and other parts of northern Iraq, and is linked to Saddam Hussein's former aide Izzat Ibrahim al-Douri, who was himself an adherent of the Naqshbandi order.[2]
