A postgraduate senior service school at Carlisle Barracks, Pennsylvania. It grants the degree of Master of Strategic Studies.

Founded in 1901 in Washington, D.C., by Secretary of War Elihu Root, it was closed in 1940 and reestablished in 1950 at Fort Leavenworth. It moved to Carlisle Barracks in 1951.
