It is alleged that Milchan then worked as an arms dealer for Israel.[citation needed] Milchan denies being a dealer but admits acting as an intermediary between Israel and various defense companies.[citation needed]

Milchan then began investing in movies for various directors.[citation needed] Most notable among those directors was Martin Scorsese. Milchan started his own production company in 1991 called New Regency Productions. Through his company and other business ventures Milchan has attained a net worth estimated at about $1.1 billion.

Arnon Milchan is listed as a producer by IMDB for many classics films such as Brazil (1985), Once Upon a Time in America (1984), Dizengoff 99 (1979), and many others.[2]

Milchan is also noted for being a strong supporter of Israel.[citation needed] He is said to be a personal friend of Shimon Peres and underwrites the Israeli Network which transmits Israeli television programming to the United States and Canada via cable and satellite TV.[citation needed]

Milchan is married to former tennis professional Amanda Coetzer.
