The school mascot is Wally the Warhawk.
Athletics
Arrowhead High School is nationally recognized for its athletic excellence. The Warhawks are a member of the Classic 8 Conference. In recent years the Warhawks have sent numerous teams to WIAA state tournaments.
In 2005, Arrowhead High School was named the top athletic high school in the state of Wisconsin by Sports Illustrated. Sports Illustrated had this to say about Arrowhead: "This suburban Milwaukee school is dominant in swimming and football and has won 13 state titles over the last 10 years."
The Warhawks have won three Division 1 football championships (1993, 1994, 1996) and took runner-up four times (2000, 2002, 2003, 2006). The football team has been to state seven times in the last 14 years. The 2006 team finished the regular season with an 8-1 overall record and a Classic 8 Conference record of 6-1, which was good enough for a share of the Classic 8 Conference title. The team went on to a WIAA Division 1 State Runner-up finish with a 12-2 overall record. The team finished the 2007 regular season with an undefeated record of 9-0 overall and a Classic 8 Conference record of 7-0 to claim its first outright conference championship since the Warhawks won it in 2002 en route to a WIAA Division 1 State Football Runner-up with a record of 12-2 under current Wisconsin Badgers starting quarterback, Tyler Donovan.
Starting with boys sports, the Warhawks had a huge year. Arrowhead boys cross country team took 4th at state and boys wrestling made it to the state semifinals in the team wrestling. Boys track took 5th at state, swimming took 2nd, and the boys basketball team made it to state and saw their season end with a state semifinal loss to eventual state champion Oshkosh West.
Girls sports saw growth in track, field hockey, swimming, basketball, softball, and cross country. Track took 10th at state, swimming won state, basketball advanced to the sectional final, softball made it to the state semifinal, and cross country took 4th at state.
A new sport started in 2006 at Arrowhead is lacrosse. The first year boys lacrosse team was state runner-up to Appleton, 9-5. Girls swimming has been a dominant team, winning five titles in school history and four in a row currently (2002-2005). Boys hockey, a relatively new sport to Arrowhead, was state runner-up in the 2004-2005 season to Superior. The school also offers girls hockey and girls field hockey. Arrowhead is the only public school in Wisconsin to offer field hockey to students. The boys track team won state in 2004 for the first time since 1965.
The high school also boasts the winningest summer baseball coach in Wisconsin high school history, Tim O'Driscoll. Through the 2005 summer season, the coach had compiled an impressive 634-291 record and .685 winning percentage. Coach O'Driscoll recently achieved his 650th career win on June 27, 2006 in a win against Kettle Moraine. According to the Wisconsin Baseball Coaches Association, that's the most by any baseball coach in Wisconsin history. O'Driscoll led the Warhawks to state runner-up in 1975, with a state title in 1979. In the 2006 season, O'Driscoll led the Warhawks to their second consecutive Classic 8 Championship with a 17-4 conference record. The Warhawks also were state runner-up in the 2006 season, losing to Milwaukee Marquette, 5-3. Though recently retiring from teaching, O'Driscoll plans to continue to coach summer baseball but will make his decision at a later time.
In 2006 Arrowhead Cheer & Stunt team won state at the WACPC (Wisconsin Association of Cheer/Pom Coaches) State Championships in the Small Co-ed Division.
