Arsala Rahmani
Arsala Rahmani (born in 1937?) is an Afghanistani politician, who served as Prime
Minister. He was a mujahideen commander during the "Jihad"
against Soviet occupation forces. By June[year needed] government troops had driven the rebel forces from Kabul, and in November he was named Prime Minister. In March 1995, government troops repelled the forces of the
southern-based Taliban. He served as Deputy Prime Minister during the Presidency of
Burhanuddin Rabbani. He served later as Deputy Education Minister in the
Taliban regime. On February 16,[year needed] he was one of the four former Taliban leaders that accepted the
reconciliation offer from the Afghanistani government. He was also named deputy leader of Khuddamul
Furqan for political affairs.[1]
