"Art Linkletter's House Party" TV Premiere
Sept 1, 1952. Television’s longest-running daytime variety show was hosted by Art Linkletter. This blend of talk and audience participation started on radio. In 1968 the show was renamed “The Linkletter Show” and moved from the afternoon to a morning slot. The series was well known for its daily interview with four schoolchildren.
