Plot

Second in the five-part documentary series Art Meets Science and Spirituality in a Changing Economy, this video focuses on a five-day conference in Amsterdam in 1990 where artists, scientists, religious leaders, and economists met to discuss how all of these subjects need to work together to prevent chaos. According to some of the preeminent people in these fields, art, science, spirituality, and economics have to form bonds with each other in order for the human race to continue to live in a civilized and orderly manner. For a more detailed dialogue on the necessity for these bonds, viewers can listen to the viewpoints of avant-garde composer John Cage, artist John Chamberlain, thermodynamic physicist Ilya Prigogine, philosopher and teacher of comparative religion Huston Smith, and Deutsche Bank director F. Wilhelm Christians. ~ Cecilia Cygnar, Rovi
