Arthur Campbell

Campbell, Arthur (1743-1811) frontiersman, soldier, and politician, born in Augusta County, Virginia. He was a cousin of William Campbell. Among the first pioneers of southwest Virginia, Campbell protected settlers' interests as their elected representative and militia commander. He led troops during Lord Dunmore's War (1774) and the Revolutionary War.
