Biography

American writer-producer-director Arthur G. Durlam also billed himself as George Arthur Durlam, G. Arthur Durlam and G. A. Durlam. His screen work, from 1931 to 1942, was confined almost exclusively to low-budget westerns. He fashioned scripts for such second-string cowboy heroes as Bill Cody, Lane Chandler and Bob Custer. Briefly forming his own production company in 1930, Arthur G. Durlam slapped together The Lonesome Trail, a showcase for the talents of stunt man Yakima Canutt; the following year, Durlam was a "hired hand" once more, directing the Tom Tyler oater Two-Fisted Justice (1931). ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
