Biography

Cinematographer Arthur Ornitz is best known for working with such independent filmmakers as Russ Meyer and Shirley Clarke. The son of Samuel Ornitz, a screenwriter, his first film was Joris Ivens' documentary Power and the Land in 1940. Prior to that, Ornitz attended the U.C.L.A. film school.
