Asahan Regency is a regency in North Sumatra. The regency covers an area of 4,581 square kilometres and according to the 2000 census had a population of 935,233 people.[1] Its seat is Kisaran. The Asahan Sultanate was located in the region.
The regency is divided administratively into 25 subdistricts (kecamatan):
