Company Bio

ASCII Entertainment Software, Inc. (AES) is a California corporation founded in December of 1990 as a wholly-owned subsidiary of ASCII Corporation of Japan (AOJ). Among other distinctions, AOJ known for publishing Famitsu one of the world's oldest and largest video game magazines.

Throughout the 1990s, AES designed and produced hardware peripherals for consoles and home computers. The company supported two lines of accessory products worldwide. "ASCIIWARE" is the company's premier video game and accessory line, while "Rhino Gear" was introduced as its value-priced accessory line.

ASCII Entertainment has also had success as a games publisher, with releases for the Genesis, SNES, PlayStation and N64. On February 19, 1999, AES created Agetec, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary, to handle its video game publishing business.
