(astronomy) A faint, luminous glow sometimes observed over the right side of Venus when it is close to inferior conjunction, probably due to electrical disturbances in the ionosphere of Venus.

A faint glow sometimes visible on the unlit side of Venus when it is in the crescent phase. Its cause is uncertain but may be similar to that of terrestrial airglow.
