Ashes were a hardcore punk band from Washington, D.C. The band was known for their heavy guitars and female vocals.
Ashes featured musical contributions from Matt Squire, who is a multi-platinum music producer, and Brian McTernan, who went on to play in the D.C. hardcore band Battery and later became a successful producer of many punk and hardcore bands.
