Ashfield railway station is a railway station serving the Ashfield area of Glasgow, Scotland. It is located on the Maryhill Line, 4 km (2½ miles) north of Glasgow Queen Street, a short distance west of Cowlairs North Junction. It has two side platforms. Services are provided by First ScotRail on behalf of Strathclyde Partnership for Transport (SPT).

History

Opened under British Rail management during the Sectorisation era introduced in the 1980s, the station was served by ScotRail until the Privatisation of British Railways came into effect on 1 April 1994.

Services

Monday to Saturdays there is a half-hourly service eastbound to Glasgow Queen Street and westbound to Anniesland.

There is normally no Sunday service from the station, with the exception of the four Sundays immediately preceding Christmas; on these Sundays an hourly service operates between 1000 and 1800 hours.
